Cuisine. In the heart of Tyrol
The Hall-Wattens region has plenty to offer in terms of cuisine: from traditional Tyrolean home cooking to award-winning restaurants, fresh produce from local farms and spirits from the distiller. There’s something to suit everyone’s taste in the Hall-Wattens region!
What makes Tyrolean cuisine so special is its simplicity. All the ingredients can be found right on your doorstep – usually at the local farm just round the corner! We’re home to Tyrol’s largest vegetable garden. Many farmers sell a variety of produce directly from their farm shops. At farmers’ markets, such as the weekly Hall farmers’ market, you’ll find a huge selection of local produce, some of which is organically grown. Whilst you wander delightfully through the market stalls, atmospheric music plays in the background. Afterwards, you can pop into your favourite café for a drink or simply enjoy Hall’s wonderful old town.
Food brings people together! So goes a Tyrolean proverb. It tastes even better when enjoyed over a convivial meal in one of the many inns or restaurants. This makes your summer and/or winter holiday perfect, allowing you to immerse yourself in the culinary world of the Tyrolean mountains. Find out more about how to use them on guided herb walks as part of our weekly programme. And if you’re ever unable to visit, you’ll find our culinary blog on this page, featuring lots of great recipes to try at home.
Culinary festivals such as the Radish Festival or the Organic Mountain Farmers’ Festival round off the programme even further. Come and visit us and experience a very special kind of hospitality! We’d be happy to help you find suitable accommodation.
