Rätersiedlung Himmelreich Wattens

On a ridge between Wattens and Volders lies the archaeological site Himmelreich, designed as an open-air museum.

In the settlement area enclosed by a (still visible) ring wall, the foundations of 8 buildings can be viewed, which presumably represent the courtyard of a Rhaetian noble. The terrace settlement Himmelreich Wattens was inhabited from the 2nd century BC to the 4th century AD and was destroyed by a fire.
