Walks. With a pushchair

Going for a walk with a pushchair can be a wonderful way to enjoy the great outdoors whilst spending time with your little one. Although it does require a bit of planning and preparation, your shared adventures in nature will create lots of lovely memories for both you and your child. Easy walking routes or paved paths are best for making it easier to push the pushchair. Find out about possible routes here to ensure they are suitable for you and your child.

Useful tips for walking with a pushchair

  • Plan your route in advance and choose the right tour.
  • Avoid steep climbs and rough terrain.
  • Use a sturdy pushchair – ideally one with all-terrain tyres.
  • Pack plenty of water, snacks, nappies and a change of clothes.
  • Set off on the walk when your child is at their most alert and in a good mood.
  • Take regular breaks so that your child can stretch their legs and play.
  • Use the pushchair’s brakes when you’re on a steep slope.
  • Apply plenty of sun cream, even if the pushchair provides some shade.

Panoramic trail from the Hinterhornalm to the Walderalm

This magnificent panoramic hiking trail is situated in the Karwendel Nature Park at an altitude of approximately 1,500 metres. The walk starts at the Hinterhornalm, which can be reached by car via the toll road. From there, the wide gravel path winds repeatedly through trees, which provide cooling shade. There is a gentle ascent and descent of approximately 60 metres in altitude along the entire route. As soon as you reach the Walderalm plateau after just under 1.5 kilometres, magnificent views open up over the Inn Valley and the mountains of the Karwendel range. The Walderalm is a great place to stop for refreshments, after which you take the same route back to the Hinterhornalm.
