Stadtmuseum Hall

The collection of the Haller City Museum includes numerous exhibits related to the history of the city. Of particular art-historical significance are especially the showpieces from the Waldaufsammlung (such as the two altar panels from the altar of the Waldauf Chapel in the Haller parish church, attributed to the pupil of Pacher, Marx Reichlich) and from Hall's baroque past (Damenstift and Jesuit church). Numerous city views document the historical importance and the changes over time in Hall.

The City Museum was housed under the museum association "Alt-Hall" since 1933 in the current Rathauscafé at the Upper Town Square. In the 1960s, it was reconfigured, among others by Councillor Dr. Hans Hochenegg. Under the direction of the cultural commissioner Dr. Leopold Wagner and the art historian Dr. Henry Quintern, the museum moved to Burg Hasegg from 1977 to 1979.

As part of the Interreg project REVITA (in partnership with the town of Klausen), new rooms for the City Museum in Burg Hasegg were renovated and restored from 2010 to 2013.

The premises are used for the current temporary exhibitions and events of the City Museum. The implementation of the overall concept for the expansion of the cultural use of Burg Hasegg is not yet complete.
