Point Break. Movie shoot
The project is a remake of the film "Point Break" from the 90s by Kathryn Bigelow with Patrick Swayze and Keanu Reeves. This time, Ericson Core (The Fast And The Furious, Invincible) is directing, with top-class stars such as Edgar Ramirez (Wrath Of The Titans, The Bourne Ultimatum), Luke Bracey (G.I. Joe), Teresa Palmer (Duel Of The Magicians, I Am Number Four), Ray Winstone (On The Way To Cold Mountain, Beowulf) and others.
Summary of the movie
A team of extreme athletes is suspected of having committed several attacks on companies. To stop them, young FBI agent Johnny Utah (Luke Bracey) has to infiltrate the group. The aim of his dangerous undercover mission is to convict the extreme sportsmen around leader Bodhi (Édgar Ramírez) as the masterminds behind these unprecedented crimes. After all, Bodhi and his people are threatening the global financial markets with their actions...
Hall in Tirol as a small Italian town
In the film, Hall in Tirol takes on the role of the fictional small Italian town of "Tofana": A Potemkin bank building was erected on Langer Graben over several weeks of construction work; a town gate was recreated at the junction of Marktgasse and Schmiedgasse and the town police office becomes an "Interpol" branch. In the course of the action, the "bank building" is attacked by several armed motorcyclists, followed by a wild chase through the streets of the old town - machine-gun noise included!
Together with the team from Cine Tirol, headed by Johannes Köck, the Hall-Wattens regional tourism association was able to convince the film's clients to shoot the project in Hall. The town of Hall already has a lot of experience in supporting film teams and acted as a link to the residents. All preparatory work was professionally supervised.
TVB Managing Director Martin Friede: "We are delighted that, by joining forces, we have succeeded in bringing another international film production to Hall. In addition to the extremely positive value-added effects for the local economy, we can record a total of almost 1500 additional overnight stays in the region."
A number of property owners in Hall have also shown themselves to be very cooperative. In addition to the exciting filming for "onlookers", it is valuable image advertising for the city when it appears as a location in international film productions and thus recommends itself for further projects.
