Magical Twelfth Nights. Guided Tour Hall

Take a journey through the mystical time between the years! A special tradition during the Christmas period in Tyrol and the Alpine region is "smoking" or, as they say in the local dialect, "rachign gian". These twelve holy nights have a particularly strong attraction for people. The Rauhnächte between Christmas and New Year are an exciting time! Many of us are familiar with Christmas and New Year phrases such as "don't wash the washing or hang it out to dry" or "leave the wheels at a standstill". But what exactly is this all about? In keeping with this, the Hall-Wattens Region Tourist Association is offering a very special Rauhnacht tour on this topic. The custom and its background are explained in more detail on a about 1.5 hour tour through the old town of Hall. This is followed by a 30-minute smoking seminar. To be more precise, it is an introduction, because smoking itself and the herbs and spices that can be placed on the charcoal are so extensive that it would take a whole day.

Our ancestors in particular consciously lived according to the rules and conditions of nature. With our modern conveniences, nature is pushed into the background and we are no longer aware of it. Christmas used to be a time of silence and retreat. Especially in today's fast-paced world, many of us are looking for this simplicity and connection with Mother Earth again. Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of old customs, which we can also apply very well to our modern times.

A journey through the mystical time between the years!

A special tradition during the Christmas season in Tyrol and the Alpine region is "smudging" or as they beautifully say in the dialect "rachign gian". These twelve holy nights have a particularly strong attraction for people. Many of us know the sayings at Christmas or New Year's like "Don't wash laundry or hang it out to dry" or "keep the wheels still". But what exactly does it mean? Accordingly, the Hall-Wattens tourism association offers a very special tour on this topic.
