During the 2022/2023 winter season, skiers and tobogganists visiting Glungezer will be reimbursed for their journey on the public bus service to the Glungezerbahn valley station.

Sustainable travel to ease the burden on the municipality of Tulfes

To ease traffic congestion and reduce the impact on the environment, the Glungezerbahn is promoting sustainable travel by public transport this winter season. Skiers and tobogganists can take bus route 4134 directly to the Glungezerbahn’s valley station. The cost of the bus ticket will then be refunded at the Glungezerbahn ticket office. To ensure the return journey is also free of charge, this ticket must also be presented at the ticket office and should therefore ideally be purchased at the same time as the outward journey.

The Glungezerbahn’s aim is to ease the burden on the municipality of Tulfes and also to improve the parking situation at Glungezer. As the bus service runs twice an hour to the Glungezerbahn valley station and stops just a few metres from the gondola boarding point, this is a practical and cost-effective alternative to travelling by car.

Perfectly groomed slopes at Glungezer

Tulfer’s local mountain is one of the most scenic peaks in the country – offering breathtaking views of the Karwendel massif opposite and stretching far into the Inn Valley. The pleasantly compact Glungezer ski area, with a total of 23 kilometres of slopes, is particularly popular with leisure skiers, ski tourers and families with children. The ski storage facility is also very handy, allowing you to store your kit so it’s always to hand.

Little snow lovers learn their first turns in the lovingly designed Kinderland on easy slopes, whilst more advanced skiers prefer the more challenging runs in the upper part of the ski area. The ‘Tulfein Express’ takes not only skiers but also tobogganists from the Halsmarter midway station to the Tulfein mountain station in 6 minutes for guaranteed fun in the snow.

The ski touring evenings are back again this winter: every Tuesday and Thursday, the Glungezerbahn runs to the middle station until 10.15 pm.
