Adlerblick. 1522

Breathtaking views and mountain panoramas are sure to linger in the memory: the new ‘Adlerblick 1522’ viewing and wildlife observation point in Gnadenwald, within the Karwendel Nature Park, promises a truly special mountain experience.

Situated in the immediate vicinity of the idyllic Hinterhornalm at 1,522 metres above sea level, high above the Inn Valley, visitors are captivated by the panoramic summit views, taking in the two- and three-thousand-metre peaks of the Tux and Stubai Alps, the lovely Inn Valley and the rugged Karwendel Mountains. A ST Vista telescope from Swarovski Optik ensures perfect long-distance views.

But it’s not just the impressive Alpine massif that can be marvelled at from the platform: Situated in the heart of the Karwendel Nature Park, home to 96 species of breeding birds, with a bit of luck you can spot numerous wild birds in their natural habitat, ranging from the Alpine chough, rock pipit, black grouse, crag martin and peregrine falcon to the majestic golden eagle.

Kings of the Climbers

Even Emperor Maximilian praised the Karwendel as a good area for spotting chamois. Even today, there are good chances of spotting this fascinating species ‘in the wild’. For example, from the ‘Adlerblick 1522’ in the Hall-Wattens holiday region, you can see the chamois on the rock faces below the striking Hundskopf (2,243 m), depending on the season, either during the spectacular rutting season or in the communal ‘nurseries’ where the young chamois gather.

The “Adlerblick 1522” is easily accessible via the toll road to the Hinterhornalm, but above all via numerous hiking trails and the Drei-Almen-Karwendel route for mountain bikers. This special experience of nature is complemented by excellent culinary delights at the Hinterhornalm and the nearby Walderalm.
