Culinary awards. Tyrolean pub culture and ‘Bewusst Tirol’

Down-to-earth quality meets hospitality

Both awards are a mark of high quality and regional character. The focus is on the use of locally sourced produce in the kitchen.

In summary, they serve as a ‘guide to authentic culinary delights’: anyone dining at a restaurant that has been awarded one or even both of these accolades will experience genuine, sustainable flavours and a taste of pure Tyrolean identity on their plate

Bewusst Tirol and its businesses

Easily recognisable by the “Bewusst Tirol” coin, this award serves as a guide for consumers and visitors who wish to enjoy Tyrolean cuisine.

It is an initiative aimed at sustainably strengthening Tyrol’s economy, agriculture and tourism. The aim is to increase value creation within the region, raise awareness of Tyrol amongst the local population and visitors, and highlight the rich variety of regional food and dishes our region has to offer.

The purchase of Tyrolean food is surveyed annually at all participating establishments. Only those establishments that source a certain quantity of Tyrolean food in relation to their food requirements (300 g per prepared meal) receive the “Bewusst Tirol” award.
