Cuisine for gourmets

In this region in the heart of Tyrol, blessed with a favourable climate, the harvest season begins as early as mid-April: from now on, local farmers are harvesting the first crisp radishes. Later on, a wide variety of lettuces will be joined by around sixty other types of vegetables, such as tomatoes, peppers, endives, courgettes and kohlrabi.
If you’d like to pick up some produce yourself, the Haller farmers’ market on the Oberer Stadtplatz is the place to go: a weekly meeting place for locals and visitors alike. Here, food lovers can sample and purchase regional produce from family-run farms at fair prices. As well as fresh fruit and vegetables, the range includes homemade bread, jam and honey, as well as numerous fish, meat, bacon and sausage specialities.
