Swiss Stone Pine Days. At the Glungezer
The Swiss stone pine is also known as the ‘Queen of the Alps’ – but there’s no doubt that she reigns supreme on the Glungezer. Here, home to the largest Swiss stone pine forest in Central Europe, where its characteristic scent is ever-present in the air, is the ideal place to celebrate Tyrol’s Swiss Stone Pine Days.
4 and 5 July 2026
Visitors can look forward to two varied themed days: from nature trails and guided tours to workshops and talks in the forest, a Swiss stone pine market, demonstrations by Swiss stone pine woodcarvers and music: Everything revolves around the Swiss stone pine.

Outside the programme, the Mountain Adventure World “Kugelwald am Glungezer” offers fun in the great outdoors for the whole family. As well as rolling Swiss stone pine balls and a variety of ball tracks, the adventure park features a DIY area, activity stations and a relaxation area with a viewing platform.
Hiking enthusiasts can trek along the Zirbenweg high above the Inn Valley through one of Europe’s oldest stands of Swiss stone pine. Breathtaking views, the scent of Swiss stone pine and the blooming alpine roses make for a magical hike in the high mountains. The Zirbenweg is a leisurely hike (elevation gain: approx. 200 metres, difficulty: easy, walking time: approx. 2½ hours)
