In summer, it is an ideal starting point for hikes on the Glungezer, Zirbenweg, etc.
In winter, you can ski directly to the slopes. Tourers can start right outside the door of the hut. Despite its location at over 1,300 m, the rustic wooden log cabin has every comfort. In addition to the 2 bedrooms with a total of 6 beds, the house offers a living room with a tiled cooker and a sofa (can be used as additional sleeping accommodation), a small kitchen with wood and electric cooker, refrigerator, etc., as well as a bathroom with toilet and hip bath. Heating is provided by the tiled stove, hot water is provided by the boiler. Walter's hut can only be reached on foot, either from the car park in approx. 5 min via the adjacent meadow (approx. 150 m) or along a forest path to the east. Bed linen and towels, all cooking and eating utensils and plenty of firewood are provided. A kettle grill is available for barbecue fans. Sunny days can be enjoyed on the large terrace in the sun loungers.
Accessible via Tulfes, then by car to the car park next to the Jagdhaus Neue Gufel. Guests are welcomed by the host at the car park, accompanied to the hut and initiated into all the secrets on site.
