The Grubertaler. Folk music from the region
When it’s on, it’s really on – Florian, Michael and Reinhard Klingenschmid, three young, passionate musicians from the Hall Wattens area, can, without exaggeration, be counted amongst the scene’s most successful acts at the moment. They are climbing the ladder of their already highly successful career, step by step, at a truly meteoric pace right to the very top. In 2020, the three lads achieved their greatest success to date. With the release of their latest album ‘ECHT SCHLAGER – DIE GROSSE FETE’, the three successful Grubertaler have once again won the hearts of their fans! Florian, Michael and Reinhard have made it into the coveted charts both in their home country of Austria and in neighbouring Germany and Switzerland – and with great success! And they’re once again demonstrating brilliance and top-class quality, for the first time even with their own songs. Today, the three likeable young stars are a guarantee of non-stop, top-class concerts and have long since been filling venues far beyond Austria’s borders.
The Grubertaler’s musical career
As members of the Grubertaler, the three young musicians are racking up awards one after the other. With their second place in the Austrian qualifiers and a sensational fourth place in the final rankings of the 2004 International Grand Prix of Folk Music, these three passionate musicians played their way into the hearts of an audience of millions. But that’s not all: as the most successful group of the year in Austria, Germany, Switzerland and South Tyrol, the lads were also honoured with the coveted 2004 Herbert Roth Prize and scored another major hit in February 2005 by winning the ‘Achims Hitparade’ on MDR as the ‘Musikantenkönige’. In October 2007, they were also honoured with the ‘Top-of-the-Mountain’ Music Award as the year’s most successful performers and received a gold disc for their album ‘Es lebe Volksmusik’. In 2008, the Grubertaler narrowly missed out on a place in the final of the Grand Prix der Volksmusik, finishing fifth in the Austrian final. At the Mountain Music Awards in autumn 2008, the three lads were named ‘Best Party Hit of the Year’. In August 2009, they achieved an outstanding fourth place at the International Grand Prix final in Munich. With their three party albums already released – “Die Größten Partyhits – Volume I–III” – the young Tyroleans stormed the official Ö3 Austria Top 40 charts for weeks on end. Volume II even achieved gold status in Austria. To mark their tenth anniversary on stage in June 2012, the hosts celebrated for four days in Fritzens with many stars and thousands of fans, and presented a brand-new folk album entitled “Was kann denn schöner sein”.
A whole string of chart-topping hits and a constant international media presence confirm the Grubertaler’s popularity! The three young musicians are simply unstoppable – the whole country has been talking about Florian, Michael and Reinhard from Volderberg in Tyrol for several years now, and the three lads have impressively demonstrated that they’re guaranteed to create a fantastic atmosphere at the scene’s biggest events. In an age of cloned, test-tube teen stars and boy bands bred through various selection processes, it is all the more refreshing to follow the career of this young power trio, who weren’t cast for a TV show and didn’t have to put on an act. The brothers Florian, Michael and their friend Reinhard are the driving force behind the folk-inspired phenomenon that is Grubertaler, who have literally played their way into the hearts of countless fans overnight. Their fanbase, which has been steadily growing throughout German-speaking Europe, sees in the three young musicians a musical and friendly connection, which thrives on credibility, authenticity and naturalness – a long-awaited response, so to speak, to the artificial world of show business. And in any case, people are happy to grant the Grubertalers what others are envious of – namely, success. The three likeable musicians from Tyrol not only master their favourite instruments to perfection; above all, their almost unique drive, constant rehearsals and outstanding talent contribute remarkably to the sheer musical delight that these three entertainers radiate during their non-stop stage performances.
