Blog recipe. Pumpkin dumplings
What shall I cook today? It’s a question we all ask ourselves, and quite often at that. Here’s an autumnal tip for pumpkin season: pumpkin dumplings.

List of ingredients for pumpkin dumplings:
- 1 pumpkin (Hokkaido)
- 250g quark
- 2 eggs
- 80g semolina
- 80g bread for dumplings
- 50g butter
- zest of one lemon
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 pinch of sugar
- Optional: vanilla pod
This recipe serves approx. 4 people.
The pumpkin must be chopped into small pieces and cooked until soft before combining the ingredients. Depending on your preference, you can purée the pumpkin. In this case, we have simply chopped the pumpkin into pieces. When the ingredients are mixed together, the pumpkin is finely chopped, leaving only a few small pieces.

Mix all the ingredients together to form a smooth dough. With damp hands, shape the dough into dumplings. Simmer these in boiling salted water for about 15 minutes. And there you have it – your pumpkin dumplings are ready.

These dumplings taste delicious whether served savoury or sweet. To serve them savoury, top the pumpkin dumplings with melted butter, pumpkin seed oil, Parmesan and a few pumpkin seeds. If you’d like to eat the dumplings as a dessert or simply as a sweet treat, you can serve them with melted butter and a little sugar.
