Recipe for homemade vanilla sauce
Here you’ll find a delicious recipe for homemade custard, as there are loads of desserts that only taste absolutely delicious when served with custard. What would a yeast dumpling, an apple or quark strudel, or apple fritters without vanilla sauce – it’s only half the enjoyment, isn’t it? I don’t know about you, but for a long time I never even thought of making the vanilla sauce myself. Yet there’s nothing simpler – and as for the wonderful flavour – simply unbeatable!! Give it a go yourselves!!

Ingredients for the homemade custard
- 250 ml milk
- 250 ml cream
- 100 g sugar
- 5 egg yolks
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 vanilla pod

How to make homemade custard
- Mix the egg yolks with about half the sugar and a little milk.&
- Heat the rest of the sugar with the cream, milk, salt, vanilla pod and the scraped-out seeds from the pod in a saucepan.
- As soon as the milk mixture comes to the boil, pour in the egg yolk and milk mixture and bring to the boil, stirring constantly.&
- Simmer briefly, then remove the saucepan from the heat and take out the vanilla pod.

The perfect accompaniment to many sweet treats – but not just that – you can also simply eat it straight from the pot – it’s a dream!

I wish you every success, and you can find more recipes HERE.
