Avalanche Safety Training Camp. Lizumerhütte
The Lizumerhütte of the Haller Alpine Club in the Wattental valley has its own new, permanent avalanche transceiver training camp – a superb facility for avalanche and ski touring courses, for education and training, for alpine sports enthusiasts, instructors, training leaders (m/f), Alpine Club sections, mountain rescue, mountain patrol, alpine police, USI, etc. In addition, the new avalanche transceiver checkpoint run by the Alpine Club and mountain rescue services has been installed at the Lizumerhütte, which is the starting point for many ski tours.
Ski tourers, off-piste skiers, snowshoe walkers, snowboarders (m/f) and anyone else interested can practise the correct use of the avalanche transceiver (LVS) under realistic conditions here at . “
Training centre
The LVS Training Camp is a training centre for avalanche victim search and rescue. Various burial scenarios can be simulated in the training area. Here, anyone can practise using an avalanche transceiver on the spot; everything from simple to complex multiple burial scenarios can be simulated.
In the training area near the Lizumerhütte, there are several avalanche transceivers buried at various depths in the snow. The avalanche transceivers can be activated via radio command from a control centre.
The avalanche transceiver facility is available for use by individuals and groups by prior booking.
