At present, the Karwendel Mountains are shrouded in winter, and there is almost complete silence – broken only by the murmur of the ice-cold, crystal-clear Weissenbach stream and the chirping of coal tits, goldfinches and other birds. Karwendel Nature Park in winter

The majestic beauty of the Karwendel Mountains provides a breathtaking backdrop for unforgettable winter excursions. Away from the hustle and bustle of the ski resorts, you can breathe in the fresh mountain air at your leisure and admire the stunning landscape. The weekly Nature Watch tour on snowshoes allows you to explore unspoilt nature in a unique way. You can hear the soft crunch of the snow beneath your boots and, through Swarovski Optik binoculars, spot wildlife in its natural habitat.

Winter walking in the mountains and in the valley

Winter hiking in the mountains is another excellent way to marvel at the panoramic views of the many peaks in the Hall-Wattens region. Our well-marked winter walking trails take you through picturesque villages, snow-covered forests or even along the mountain ranges at 1,500 metres above sea level. You can easily cover the elevation gain in advance by taking the gondola.
