What does the Wattens Local History Museum have to offer?
At the heart of the Museum Wattens lies a quest: for home, for history, for identity and for a sense of direction. Despite its name, the institution does not see itself as a museum. Rather, it takes on the role of a cultural powerhouse. Fuelled by Wattens’ history, it drives the town forward.
Wattens is a magical place – a place where different layers of time and levels of meaning overlap. A history of settlement dating back to the Iron Age and a (pre-)industrial tradition stretching back to the Middle Ages have left their mark on Wattens.
