Kicking off the summer at the Glungezer
Tulfes – On 29 May, the Glungezerbahn in Tulfes kicks off the summer season. Summer 2025 offers a wide range of activities and events on the mountain. As well as the Kugelwald mountain adventure park on the Glungezer and the scenic Zirbenweg trail, the popular moonlight rides will be taking place again this year – an atmospheric highlight where you can enjoy the fascinating evening atmosphere and the sunset on the mountain.
From Thursday 29 May 2025, the Glungezerbahn will once again be taking all mountain enthusiasts up to the Glungezer. The Glungezerbahn runs daily from 08:30 to 17:00, providing a relaxed journey up and down the mountain for all visitors to the Glungezer and the Zirbenweg trail.
When the Glungezer glistens in the moonlight
For the first time, the Moonlight Tours programme will take place exclusively around the Tulfein mountain station. There, in a romantic atmosphere, visitors can experience, amongst other things, the thrilling legend of the Glungezer Giant, presented by the Tulfes Theatre Society at the Tulfein Chapel. In addition, short nature walks led by Tyrolean mountain guides are on offer, running until nightfall.
The varied programme also includes yoga in the mountains and the chance to observe the moon. Refreshments are provided by the Halsmarter Alpine Restaurant and the Tulfeinalm. On these evenings, the Glungezerbahn will operate continuously until 11.00 pm (last descent), and the ticket office will remain open until 9.00 pm.
A particular highlight is the nature tour on the theme of ‘Summer in the Alps’ on 5 July and 6 September, led by Peter Fuchs, an expert in alpine farming and a content and project manager at Agrarmarketing Tirol. He will provide insights into the importance of alpine farming for the Alpine landscape, biodiversity and climate protection.
Please note: On 6 September, the guided tour starts at 6.30 pm; the meeting point is the Tulfein mountain station.
