Long-distance walking route. Adlerweg
The eagle has been native to Tyrol for centuries; it symbolises freedom, strength and vastness. The route of the Adlerweg, the main hiking trail across Tyrol, symbolises a proud eagle spreading its “wings” over the land.
The route’s course resembles the silhouette of an eagle soaring through the air with its wings spread wide. Alpine experience, sure-footedness and a head for heights are essential on many stages to be able to take on the challenge: 320 kilometres of hiking between the Wilder Kaiser and the Arlberg, 24 day stages ranging from easy to difficult, from gentle to rugged, from lively to extremely gruelling. 23,000 metres of ascent, 20,000 metres of descent.
