New long-distance cycle route: Munich – Milan. Press release

After setting off from Munich, the Bavarian capital, the group visited the Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Wattens the following day. Martin Friede, Managing Director of the TVB, welcomed the long-distance cyclists on site, who are covering a total distance of 610 kilometres. “Long-distance cycling, much like long-distance hiking, is becoming increasingly popular. With the Inn Cycle Route, the Munich–Venice long-distance cycle route and the new Munich–Milan long-distance cycle route, three major routes pass through the region,” reports Martin Friede.
The Munich–Milan long-distance cycle route is a cycle route that aims to become a sustainable cultural and tourism infrastructure, connecting regions, communities and visions. “Munich–Milan is dedicated to sustainable mobility, slow tourism, mindfulness of the landscapes traversed and cooperation between local stakeholders,” says Ulrike Pfeifhofer from IDM South Tyrol, summarising the concept behind the new long-distance cycle route.
