The history of Wagnerhof:

The Schweiger family operates a secondary income farm in Volders. In 2017, the decision was made to focus on the fattening of heifers. The farm is managed with great joy.

They start the "beef year" with about 21 head of cattle, which are crossbreeds of Simmental or Brown Swiss with beef breeds. Usually, the oxen and heifers are back on pasture at the beginning of April. The animals spend the summer in the alpine pasture in the Sellraintal and from September on the meadow. Until early November, the animals enjoy their time outdoors. This is very important to the farmer and his wife. They are particularly concerned about the well-being of the animals on the farm and therefore wish for appreciation for agriculture and local quality products. A regional quality meat program offers advantages for the farmers, as well as for the animals through careful handling and short transport distances, and through regional processing, it creates significant value added in Tyrol.
