Via Habsburg. Themed route
In a way, the history of the Habsburgs is also the history of Europe. And walking in the footsteps of this famous family inevitably reminds us of our own deep roots. From 996 to 1815, the (strong) personalities of this great dynasty had a decisive influence on history. What's more, they helped shape the geography and thus the fate of Europe. Alliances and disputes, striving for power and territorial conquests, times of war and peace... This 800-year history has divided peoples, but above all brought them together again and created connections... Connections that are still alive today.
The aim of the project is to offer everyone the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of the great historical, cultural and artistic heritage of this emblematic dynasty via a European itinerary. To this end, four themed trails with a total of 64 sights and cities in four different countries and five regions invite you to make diverse and extraordinary discoveries.
The Via Habsburg aims to fulfill a vision of the future that is close to everyone's heart: to promote dynamic openness and community in a Europe that lives unity and diversity in solidarity and generosity.
