Experience nature in its fall dress

Hikes have a very special charm in the golden fall. So does the hike to one of the places of power in the Hall-Wattens region, the Walderalm. Whether it's a family-friendly hike or an active hike on the mountain, various tours offer everyone the opportunity to visit the Walderalm. The alpine pasture is situated on an idyllic plateau and offers wonderful views of countless mountains in the Tux Alps right up to the rugged rock faces of the Karwendel. Here you can enjoy nature at its most beautiful in autumn and recharge your batteries.
When autumn shows its rough side, the Hall-Wattens region offers numerous museums to discover. The history of salt mining is told in the Mining Museum, while the Hall Mint is all about the creation of the first taler and the development of the dollar. The Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Wattens are also always worth a visit.

Fall time is gourmet time

The huts await hungry hikers with excellent dumplings, Schlutzkrapfen and refreshing drinks. But there is also a wide range of culinary delights to discover in the valley. The organic mountain farmers' festival will take place in Hall on September 9, 2023. This year's festival is themed "Potatoes", but of course there will be numerous other delicacies from the region on offer in addition to the potatoes. From vegetables from the Thaurer fields to meat and homemade drinks. If you already have other plans for this date, you can visit the weekly farmers' market in Hall on the upper town square every Saturday morning and sample the produce of the Hall-Wattens region.

Customs and traditions in the fall

As in the whole of Tyrol, the classic cattle drive is a must in the Hall-Wattens region in the fall. On September 16th, the Schafferer family celebrates the return of their animals with a traditional procession at the Friedrichshof in Absam from 11:00 am. As a sign of gratitude that the cattle are returning home in good health, the cattle are festively decorated with alpine flowers, fir trees and much more. A true Tyrolean tradition that amazes visitors and lets them experience the cows up close.
The Horse Autumn is also a trademark for the Hall-Wattens region. On September 24, 2023, riders from all disciplines and with a wide variety of breeds will gather in Mils. Horses from leisure or breeding, from sport or in front of historic carriages will be presented to the amazed visitors. An unusual event for young and old and especially for horse lovers.

In autumn, the Nature Connoisseur Tour can be booked from €89 for two nights including half board. The package offers guests the opportunity to take part in a guided hike from the weekly summer program or to explore the Hall-Wattens region on their own on an e-bike.
