Two amazing valleys Apart from the short, but steep climb up the Mölser Scharte, there are no appreciable inclines on this tour. Height gained at a steady, but leisurely rate, always with plenty of new views - this is a real treat of a tour, as, if the snow conditions are good, you can look forward to an interesting descent.
Please note: You will be in restricted military area - please reading warning signs and check test firing times!
Route description: Start from the car-park and follow the path through Walcher Camp and then turn right on a track that is also used as a toboggan run down into the Möls valley. Passing the Möls-Niederleger (lower pasture), and half-way to the Möls-Hochleger (upper pasture), you will reach the tree-line. Keeping in a south-easterly direction over nice skiing terrain, you will climb above the Hochleger to Lake Möls. There then follows a steeper section up the Mölser Scharte (2,379m), from where it's easy going via the wide ridge to the Mölser Berg summit (2,479m). Another option for the uphill climb is via the Lizumer hut - instead of turning right after Walchen Camp, go left by the stream following signposted route 314, then westwards beneath the Lizumer hut past the lift pylons as far as the Mölser Scharte along the described route and onwards up to the summit. The descent consists of fine skiing terrain as far as the forest path.
