Advent marks the start of a very special time here in Hall. The Advent lighting, a mixture of stars and Christmas symbols, bathes the entire town in a glow of anticipation for this, the most tranquil time of the year. Day by day, the big celebration draws one step closer. A fact attested to by the numbers from the Advent Calendar, which are projected against the building facades on the upper town square and coloured in on each passing day. Truly unique and getting bigger every year is the Hall Advent Market, a place for locals and guests to gather, get in a festive frame of mind and share the yuletide joy.
Every day during Advent, the booth operators open their hatches and doors, offering their traditional handicrafts and culinary delicacies to the public. Whether to purchase a gift, to meet up with friends or see the eyes of the kids sparkle as they take a pony ride – a visit to the Hall Advent Market promises moments that are truly evocative. And not just the one time, since the highlights here change almost daily, including the market stands themselves, which often rotate between different operators.
And what would Advent be without its reflective music – choirs and wind musicians from Hall and the surrounding area, but also from as far away as South Tyrol, set the perfect tone and give the Advent Market a truly festive flavour. The petting zoo, the kids‘ Christmas Wagon and the storyteller promise great fun and entertainment for our younger visitors. On Thursday, December 6, St. Nicholas and his entourage will pay a visit to Hall‘s Old Town. He will stand before the Advent Market and give his traditional address, then sing Christmas songs with all the youngsters.
On Friday, November 25, this year’s Advent Market on the upper town square in Hall will open its doors to the public. As in years past, the market will be open every day until December 24.

Monday to Friday from 2 to 8pm
Saturdays, Sunday and December 8 from 10am until 8pm
Catering every day to 9pm
On December 24, the market will be open from 10am until 1pm.

Absam
At the Advent Market in Absam, there is so much for big and small to see. Their foods, drinks and Christmas items will first be available to the public on Sunday, December 4 at 3pm. The day’s highlight will be at 5pm, when St. Nicholas arrives with his entourage of angels.
On Sunday 11.12 and 18.12., the Advent Market will be open between 3 and 8pm on the forecourt of the Absam village hall.
Refreshments include traditional delicacies and sweets, punch and hot mulled wine.
Stefanie Fischler will present her very own glass products, while the elementary schools from Absam-Dorf and Absam-Eichat will also offer for sale an array of items they have made themselves.
At the other booths, you will be able to buy small Christmas presents, silver jewelry with precious stones, as well as a variety of other arts and crafts. Also available are wooden items and toboggans from the Prantner company, as well as a selection of schnappses and liqeuers created by Mr. Arno Pauli. The Absam Family Association will be selling small gift items and crafts, with all proceeds going to social organisations.
Wind musicians from the Absam town band and the singers of the Jakob Stainer Choir perform from 5 until 6pm, guaranteeing the perfect Advent atmosphere.
On Sundays during Advent, on 4.12./11.12. and 18.12.10, romantic carriage rides will be offered to everyone, big and small, starting at 4pm.
And from 3 to 7pm on those same Sundays, our littler guests will also have an opportunity to take pony rides.

Advent Market in Wattens
