Local Museum Wattens: History and daily life

Since the 5th of October 2018 Wattens offers a new museum which provides a graphic and impressive insight into the past and present world of the small market town of Wattens and its surrounding area.

Opening hours are:
Thuesday til Sunday from 10am til 5pm (holdidays inclusive)
Monday closed

Gemeindemuseum Wattens

A rich collection of artefacts found at the Himmelreich prehistoric site, i.e. amphora, tools and weapons, are on display here, as well as many fascinating photos and objects charting the growth of the town and the development of Wattens' two major industrial concerns, Swarovski and Wattenspapier.

The Himmelreich open-air museum is freely accessible at all times.
